How Neat are you? 🚶🏻‍♂️🗂

Something a lot of us struggle with is the fact that, let's face it, cardio sucks.

I for one don't enjoy running, it can be boring & leaves you exhausted a lot of the time.

Is there an alternative, thats much more enjoyable & sustainable?

You bet.

Just do more walking. (Contributes to our Non-Exercise Activity Thermogensis or NEAT.)

Don't worry about the sciency name, just means that you burn a lot more energy & can eat more*.

Win-win if you ask me.

Seems pretty simple, but it sure as hell works.

When it comes to losing weight & getting lean, how active we are throughout the day is way more important than those 20 minutes you spent on the cross-trainer.

Seriously, give it a try.

If you don't own a FitBit, do not fear.

We all own phones right?

If you check out your "Health" app on your iOS, you'll find a step tracking feature.

I know I'm often inseparable from my phone, so tracking your steps automatically like this can be super useful.

Challenge yourself. Always start small & look for mini-wins.

A nice starting point is to aim for ~8-10K steps a day.

This could be taking the stairs in the Library instead of the lift.

Taking a longer route home.

Arthur's Seat if you're feeling really adventurous.

Whilst cardio does have its drawbacks, it can be super useful too.

I'd recommend finding an enjoyable way to include 2-3 intensive sessions a week if time permits.

For me, this could be 5-a-side football, touch rugby or even a new sport like Kickboxing or Judo.
